Gender-Responsive Budgeting: Bolivia (Video, 2008). As part of its gender-responsive budgeting project, UNIFEM developed and sponsored workshops in Cochabamba, Bolivia, to teach women how to seek government funding for projects that can benefit them. Women were educated on the city budget: where government money comes from, how it is distributed, and what strategies to use in applying for funds. The workshops helped the women envision what they can do for themselves, and helped them better understand what kinds of demands they can make on their own government. more
